The Good Citizen Award Scheme
The Club promotes the Kennel Club Good Citizen Award Scheme.
The scheme aims to produce a dog that will:
- Walk and sit in a controlled manner on the lead
- Will lie down on command
- Will allow its owner to clean it and groom it and inspect its feet
- Allow its owner to position it for examination
- Come to hand when called
The scheme is not competitive but it is tested and carries a certificate.
The final test is carried out under arrangement by the club by an independent official.
